Biomorphic: ‘bios' meaning life and 'morphe' meaning form.
The 'Mother' coffee or accent table is organically-shaped and part of the biomorphic series of plaster sculptures. This functional sculpture is one-of-a-kind and crafted by hand. It is a second-generation sculpture, made from a durable, waxed limestone plaster. The sculptural coffee table has a smooth, lightly water resistant finish. This finish may be cleaned with a wet rag or mild cleaning product, and/or a beeswax to maintain the tactile surface texture and bring out natural color variation in the plaster. Recommended for indoor use only.
Description:
White coffee table. Organic texture and shape forming a figural distortion of the human body. The work constructs a world through a lived and presumed opacity to human experience—one not conforming to an idealized norm, but forming a body in terms of what it can become.
