Chora (pron. CORE-AH) is the space in which something exists or occurs—a relationship between objects and their surrounds.

Studio Chora’s organic light sculptures are one-of-a-kind and handcrafted from a composite paper clay and delicate, mineral gypsum plaster. The result is a high-quality compressed limestone finish carefully burnished to a smooth-to-the-touch, matte surface. The shapes are expressive of the human form.

About the designer: E. L. Silva, M. Arch., of Studio Chora is a designer based in New Mexico. Trained as an architect, her work focuses on post-Deleuzian philosophy as a critical tool for articulating gender. She handcrafts one-of-a-kind sculptures, drawings, technical and artistic visuals, pneumatic dinner parties, and augmented reality experiences.
